DPS WORLD SCHOOL – Jalalabad
                              Investiture Ceremony – 2016-17

Leaders are born… and not made… only those who have moved forward… would have led… and others fade in the oblivion of ignominy……………and opprobrium.
Penmania moves and thrives amidst all paraphernalia. Events give vents to the clogged pores of minds to express and impress and the race goes on and on.
School Students’ Council is the “Governing Body” of the representatives of the students which takes care of the overall day to day discipline of the students in different arenas of the school and also the buses. The SSC assists the school authorities in the conduction of various events of the school in a smooth and impressive way. As the House Captains, Vice Captains & Sports Captains they are honed to take on the different mantles with confidence and aplomb. The School Head Boy and the Head Girl lead the pack under the tutelage of senior most mentors.
All get the badges, sashes, caps and responsibilities to shoulder and come up to the expectations of the school collective.
To do all the above and more DPS World School Jalalabad has organized The Investiture Ceremony on the 5th of August, 2016 inviting Mr. Avikesh Gupta, PCS (SDM - Jalalabad) as the Guest of Honour.
On the pre-appointed time SDM – Jalalabad arrived to inaugurate the most sought after ‘frame of time’ and entered the sanctum sanctorum after the ceremonial “Tilak” accompanied by the Principal Madam.
“Where the head is held high and the mind is without fear”………. The famous lines by the World Poet Gurudev R.N.Tagore were the opening lines echoing in the air of the school, recited by the honorable Principal, followed by all the students.
School song was sung by the school choir and the “Thought for the day” followed thereafter.
Guest of Honour SDM – Jlbd. was invited to the dias to do the honours for the Investiture of The School Council assisted by the Principal and the House Captains and the School Head Boy also got the respective flags from the hands of the inimitable SDM Sir who took time out of his busy schedule to grace the occasion and bless the children.
In his well worded speech he emphasized on the importance of cleanliness and timeboundness.
He said that the two most valuable aspects of life…i) How to live? And ii) How to earn a living? are taught by the teachers in a school. “Great societies are created by the healthy children”, he deliberated upon during his speech in which he made the students feel relaxed and comfortable.
As a token of love and care he was bestowed with an insignia and then vote of thanks was raised before the conclusion with The National Anthem and a group photo of the School Council with the Guest of Honour and the Principal.
All good happenings draw to their imminent close, which is but natural, for allowing the TIME, may be to remain ripe and ready to “deliver newer babies from her ceaseless womb.”

THURSDAY                                      DPS World School – Jalalabad           28-07-2016

A Day dedicated to Learning………in a little different way……outside the classroom in the public space…….

Learning is ceaseless……just an endless enormity moving upto eternity……..Learners imbibe and  they must be after the juicy pathways of learning whatever may be the processes or the methods, in class or may be anywhere in the vicinity or not so close by…………….
Practicalising the inputs always have shown better impacts on the impressionable minds of tutees and the response pattern is also said to be perennial in nature.
Keeping the ‘age old adages’ and the dictums in mind we here at DPSWS – Jlbd. always try to take an extra step, go an extra mile and effortise to move forward in the “direction of emancipation” in as many ways as is possible for our tutees and mentees in “bringing in the latest winds of desirable changes”.
On the 27th July, 2016 the students of classes 1 to 5, accompanied by their Class Teachers and the PTI/DI have visited ICICI Bank/ATM and the Head Post Office of the town armed with lots of inquisitivenesses and queries. They got very warm and loving response from the Managers, Masters and the authorities in general in both the establishments.
Many pairs of eager eyes and patient ears were standing and sitting in attention to absorb and assimilate the disseminated information assisted by parently teachers and mentors.
For the the tiny tots the entire exposure was quite flabbergasting, but they kept pace with the race of time and also enjoyed a lot.
All the audio-visual inputs would have to be translated into Inter House Model Making as “a closure activity of the visit”. And the School Assembly also will be the happy witness to all the spoken deliberation by  the beneficiaries of this fabulous Day – Trip.
The next instant of the 28th July, 2016 is reserved for the same activities for the learners of Std.6 to 9 to be escorted by their class teachers and another sports teacher.
Bubbling with zealous enthusiasm the band of 44 students boarded the comfortable buses at around 09:00 AM and first reached the premises of ICICI Bank at Jlbd. The Manager and the Dy. Manager took all the queries of the students and the accompanying teachers so very fabulously and answered them all. The learners were enveloped in enthusiasm of a sublime level to have got this golden opportunity to interact so freely with the mega-minds of finance to delve deep into the workings of their future.
A teacher who is a very keen observer of happenings all around can always be in a position to guide in a gamely manner as well as extract the exactly required rudimentaries of all the wherewithal at the disposal of the head honchos.
The next venue for all was the Head Post Office, Jlbd. where the same zeal amongst the learners was palpably audible and visible. The lady Post Master explained so very lucidly all the intricacies of the “movement of the mail” and there was one more very forward looking staff member who shared his views and vision in response to the inquisitive queries of all the visiting young minds.
In conclusion may I surmise to summarise the entire deliberation as an “Effort taken in the right direction to empower the minds about what the future has in store for the coming generations”……….to direct the zealous flow of constructive thoughts merge in “the ocean of the new dawn.”
Hope for more to come in the times to unfold….. to turn the ‘ferrous’ GOLD.

Penmania……….. as is the usual……..

A Visit to “eat inquisitiveness”…… “drink the nectar of knowledge” and “breathe Scientific
                                                              Temperament”………………………………
All over the Northern India the teachers, parents, students and school & college authorities are in the know of the most valuable presence and ceaseless contribution of The Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala in spreading the highly required awareness amongst the masses as well classes.
Teachers and Facilitators from all over various different geographies find the place “a melting pot of cross-functional scientifism”.
We, here at DPSWS – Jalalabad leave no stone unturned in our endeavours to bring the BEST for our learners’ “audio-visual experiences and assimilation for the greater good”… be it the “basics of sciences” or the “tentacles of technology”……. We believe…..& So we live and there is no other way left today, in any which way we may move, to be and remain ALIVE devoid of “the solace of science”.
On the 30th of July, Saturday 45 Children (from 3 to 9) and 4 teachers along with the Honorable Principal got together very early in the morning in the school premises to arrange themselves, neatly organized in the waiting AC bus for the delightful sojourn in search of “heavenly altitudes of sciences”.
STEM is a very broad area of educational partaking and comprehension and the “lacks” and “lagging behinds”…….. I mean the loopholes of the present and the imminent FUTURE can be plugged efficiently despite and in spite of “all psycho-intellectual pilferages” by inducing, energizing and involving the very young and the impressionable minds in a systematic way to walk the “Scientific Mile”…… to feel the “Scientific Ethos”…….. and to ingest & digest the “Sci-technologically churned butter”.
Keeping all the above and even more in mind for the ultimate and ceaseless benefit of the student community we, as the DPSWS Collective, take every STEP and “the visit in quest of the search” proved to be a stepping stone for the times to come paving the way for one and all to “think scientifically” and to “act technologically”.
On the food & entertainment department……be it the snacks……or the lunch at the PGSCK…………….the ice creams………the sheer endlessness in the variety of chips, bhajis, bhujias and cookies…… songs… dances….selfies……teasings, jokes and tantrums……….we all were more than enough and even more…….
It was just plain simple bonhomie amongst all the tutees and tutors……… mentees and mentors and the ever so active Indu Madam, our Principal who boosted and bolstered everyone’s morale to be on the forefront of all the present developments and also be the catalyst to find “the future hidden in the wombs of time”.
Visiting the “Laser Show” and the “3-d Show”…….witnessing the Large Format Film Theatre and Bird Gallery……Seeing and experiencing first hand all that happens in the world of “miraculous constructions”………etc. all were enigmatic eye-openers.
Sumptuous stuffed “paranthas” with bowls of curd and envious sprinkling of butter in the morning to begin with and hot pakoras & chilled mango drink to sum up the entire deliberation in the evening while still travelling back to the “memory rack” relishing the eventful day gone so very smoothly in excitement and imagination coming vividly to life in the loving company of peers and mentors, can never be forgotten…for who wants the soul to remain devoid of “Scientific Sprinkling”…………………………
Penmania moves on the thoroughfares of destiny forever… coaxing… cajoling the “thought saga” of “technological wizardry” to jump a notch higher…………
See you all in the ceaseless endlessness of discoveries, inventions and innovations……….with passion filled “fuel of fantasy”………………………………….

                                       INDEPENDENCE DAY------2015
All souls want to soar high, be and remain free. Forever. But must we know that freedom is not free. There are checks, balances and steps on every level during all the modalities concerned.
Bloodbath always was and always will remain the required ingredient to face the perpetrarors of violence who always have attempted to keep people of different nationalities in chains.
But the true leaders know how to make the followers do the needful and unchain the holy motherland from the shackles of dependence.
Here in the sanctum sanctorum of DPS-JC we celebrate the Independence Day with ceaseless zeal and boundless enthusiasm year after year.
This year the celebrations saw our honourable Vice President Mr. Purushottam Dewangan as the Chief Guest and the respectable AVP Mr. Kamal Kishore Dewangan as the Guest of Honour who by their mere presence enthused one and all. In his speech after the National Flag hoisting and the colourful March Past by all the 4 Houses, on the occasion, Honourable VP sir threw light on the contribution of scores of freedom fighters who laid their lives for the freedom of our motherland.
Respectable Headmistress Ms. Mitu Dey highlighted the momentous occassion by quoting the words of the first PM J.L. Nehru to mark the beginning of an all new dawn in the lives all Indians way back in 1947.
Two speeches in Hindi and English were delivered by the School Captain, Deepak Sahu and Vanshika Agrawal of Std.6 respectively which included plain-speak and rhetoric both. There was a well - choreographed dance and a group patriotic song, nicely and very smoothly delivered by the students trained by the Dance and Music Teachers.
“Bachhon ki Kachhari”, a Hindi Skit was presented by the students under the apt direction of Mr. P. Dixit.
Entire presentation was anchored by Avni Sadhwani & Abhishek Thomas under the tutelage of the CCA Chief Coordinator Mr. Pradip K. Banerjee who concluded the Democratic Deliberation by raising the Vote of Thanks in his inimitable way remembering all the glorious sacrifices of the greatest souls of this nation.

                                    Ways are many…means are endless

                                      Inter House DPS-Jockey Competition------2015

        DPS-Jockey…………Speaking Smartly to Meet Success
Speaking is an ART……… Oops! Who didn’t know!!!??? Anyone in the fraternity of readers of my blogs who wait with bated breath and ever agile anticipation of the next great dish of “mental food” which I keep serving platter after platter according to a la carte menu???????
Jockeying is of course speaking or if I may say, “blabbering” of a “zara hat ke” kind in which clarity of speech and innovation go hand in hand. The participants have to try their very best to be one up from their peers and compatriots and in this “Game of Showmanship and One-upmanship” in front of the live audience, this year all the 40 participants, 10 each from the four HOUSES had the grand Opportunity of being honed by the inimitable and witty Master Public Speaker, the CCA Chief Coordinator Mr. Pradip Banerjee/Penman himself.
The entire show was his brainchild and appropriately packaged by his clarity of vision and statements of delivery. Learner/competitor after competitor reached the podium as if in a state of studied trance and kept on entertaining and enthralling the JURY and the audience in the School Activity Room.
TEN extremely different and equally challenging topics were described in advance for the participants to choose from. From “Selling a New Detergent Powder” to “Inviting the City Students for a Dance Show” to “Challenging All to Learn English…the PENMAN Way”, the wide variety became the talk of the institution.
For the first time a “team of students” were in employment to bring to life all the ideas of the CCACC-Penman in making the posters, gate hangers and student passes.
The JURY comprised of The HM Ms. Mitu Dey, CCACC Mr. Pradip K.Banerjee & Mrs. Archana Dodhwar who had a tough time judging the best due to the grand gala performance of almost all.
Penman had inputted/allowed the use of props. and special getups by the participants to add spice, charm and galore to add to the Overall Showbiz Value of the EVENT.
Whatever is planned in advance and efforted well always Konkludes in Soulful Success.
I will be failing in my sacred duties to reflect my Love And Kare for all my students if I don’t mention the following names here whose unstinted support and hard labour Kreated All The Posters & Passes etc. Mind – Designed by me to add a dash of previously unheard of GLAMOUR in the presentation of DPS-Jockey………………….They Are……….
1.       Abhishek Thomas, 2. Yash Tahlani, 3. Shubham Paliwal, 4. Krishna Gattani & 5. Mohit Dhanuka……all of Std. 10-B.
