MEDIA IS A POWERFUL WEAPON TO CURTAIL CORRUPTION
People in general
Like  veggies and cereal
Wish to witness
Want to see
Desire to be seen
May be genuine  OR
Just a show off
Like we doff
To don anew
In all mediocrity
Or exaggerating excess
In Today’s India
God is Media
Public appetite
Dil Mange More
Everything is on the platter
Can’t settle for less.
Good Morning…….. so enthusing
Good Noon………. Get well soon……. From the phobia of media for good evening may be so excruciating that goodnight won’t be devoid of cat fight.
Quite Perplexing! Isn’t it? Understood? Don’t even try to for I…………….. the speaker am still cracking my brain and going nuts to comprehend as to how to prove Media is not a powerful weapon and so it can’t curtail corruption.
This is indeed a grand opportunity to represent the House of Venus to set the ball rolling this season circa 2013. I,…………………………….. wish to word my thoughts as powerfully as possible to impress the august gathering which includes luminaries our highly admired Director Sir, lovable Manager Sir, Mother incarnate Kiran Madam, Respected Headmaster Sir, all lovely & competitive House Masters, Members of the Jury and my dear Senior & Junior Abhimanyus…………..A very warm Good…………… to you all.
Hope you have the necessary wherewithal to understand that I am here on the podium to oppose the motion.
All over the globe and especially in India we are co-existing or rather attempting to amidst a chaotic frenzy of multiplicity and proliferation. When our masses are suffering the pangs of poverty on one hand, we have all the glimpses of problems of plenty on the other.
In today’s world of excesses we have a plethora of Media Houses which have sprung up in all corners of Indian Geography. We are the netizens of 24/7 News, Views & Reviews Channels dishing out many times perplexing, over the top, invented and even stage-managed “unrealities” in the name of REALITIE0S.
If I include all the foreign players beaming into our living rooms, intruding our privacy then the list of Media Barons would run into reams of NEWSPRINT, another tool which the media uses or abuses to make waves, headlines and pots of money; most of which go(es) underground as black to be pumped back into the process of palm-greasing and lubrication of the perpetual machinery of corruption, nepotism and jaundiced bigotry.
Whenever there is oversupply of anything, idea, device or mechanism then value erosion is bound to happen. When too many players have to throng the same arena then competition has to be cut-throat. And then how you slit to prove yourself fit and compete to score more brownie points become the sole goal of any medium whether print or electronic.
Power of any weapon is measured in its sustained sharpness. Honesty of presenting the hard, harsh facts biaslessly with perpetuity and ceaseless continuity in itself is a lethal luxury if supplied and consumed in sane moderation.

Luckily such instances are(few and far between) not many but still we have to be alert and ready to defeat such nefarious designs & venomous deliberations which if remain unchecked can weaken the pillars of our democracy.
May I now conclude my deliberation with the hope that more sense would prevail and social firmament would be strong enough in future to combat & correct such ills by nipping in the bud which attempt to keep media in their vice like grip and spread the poison of corruption unabated.
With the hope of living in a better world may I now take your leave? Thank you all and have a nice day.
