The 4th
Annual Sports Day Speech of The President
Delhi Public School------Janjgir-Champa
All work and
no play makes Jack a dull boy. All studies and no sports make all campus life
soulless and lifeless. Sports and games are part and parcel of the balanced
existence of learners and facilitators in any Institution.
Swami
Vivekananda had observed, “if one can’t meditate then it is better to go…play
football than to try in a futile manner for during the fast game one will have
only one thought to focus.” And that is either to save the goal or pierce the
goal of the opponent.
With the
aforesaid words in mind I am immensely happy today on The 4th Annual
Sports Day of our school to have amongst us highly respectable Mr. Vijay Kr.
Agarwal who despite having a very hectic schedule as the ASP-JC, agreed to be
the Chief Guest to encourage all young learners and to imbibe in them the
intrinsic values of the activities of track and field.
I have here
with me our AVP Mr. Kamal Kishore Dewangan, our Honourable Princiipal Mr.
Chakradhar Pani, Mrs. Meera Tiwari ,Headmistress of Govt. Naveen Primary
School, Paraudera,Lachchanpur, Mr.Raj Kr.Upadhyay,Headmaster of Govt. Prim.
School, Ghutia
and Mr.Ajay Pradhan , Headmaster of Govt.
Prim. School, Baraipara , all of whom add to my jubillation which I feel for
all our growing children and am filled with gratitude and heartfelt
thankfulness.
Our country
is taking rapid strides in all spheres of human endeavour and our children are
our most important human capital. CBSE in its curriculum has provided due
weightage and importance to all games and sports to develop healthy body and
highly spirited mind of all young learners.
Spirit of
Sportsmanship ingrained early in life makes a boy or a girl a complete thinking
and evolved human being and so no word of praise for true sports persons is
enough ever.
When I look
back I feel nostalgic to think about our first 3 years and the picture of
honest toil and tremendous hard work of all our teachers and students move like
a reel in a movie theatre.
Our
collective labour has paved the path for atleast 20 students to partake in
various ball games at the state level….thanks to the whole hearted efforts of
our Games teacher(s) whose motivation and concentrated training made possible
all the enthralling results galore.
I am in the
know of the fact that there are miles to go, many mountains to climb and
endless hurdles to clear in our ceaseless quest to add to our ever expanding
bouquet of laurels.
But I
promise from this podium today that with all your support and genuine
belongingness we all can sure add uncountable numbers of laurels to the
feathers of our glorious cap.
I believe we
must never fear any war…for peace is
permanent, war just happens for a CHANGE.
And, here at
DPS-JC we have a strong team which can bring about all the changes as each
member is a harbinger of motion and progress. I believe, “change is the ony
factor” which remains ever permanent and with this very glorious hope in the
horizon here I would now like to conclude by saying…………
Opportunities do knock on every door
But only
those who are in the know of swimming can see the SHORE…..
Thank you
all.
Jai
Hind….Jai Bharat.
